Tijuana Fulford is the visionary Founder and Executive Director of The Butterfly Effect Project (BEP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth by eliminating barriers to success. A Black female leader with a deep commitment to her community, Tijuana's journey is one of resilience, transformation, and purpose. Born into circumstances where poverty, drug abuse, and teenage pregnancy were seen as inevitable outcomes, Tijuana defied the odds with the support of a mentor who helped her realize her potential beyond societal expectations. This experience ignited her passion for ensuring that young people-regardless of background-have access to the guidance, resources, and support they need to thrive. In 2014, she founded The Butterfly Effect Project with just one chapter of eight girls, creating a safe space for youth to dream, grow, and succeed. Since then, BEP has expanded exponentially, now serving 700 boys and girls across 31 in-school and out-of-school chapters. Under Tijuana's leadership, BEP has become a lifeline for underserved communities, providing mentorship, academic and emotional support, exposure to diverse opportunities, and pathways for community engagement and volunteerism. Tijuana's unwavering dedication to youth empowerment and community-building continues to inspire change, proving that when given the right tools and encouragement, every child has the potential to break cycles and achieve greatness.
